ASHRAE Offers New VRF Courses In Its Spring Online Seminars


One of the eleven-course offerings in ASHRAE’s Spring Online Seminars series is the Variable Refrigerant Flow System Design and Application.

Variable refrigerant flow (VRF) systems are presently applied in different types of buildings throughout the United States. Some of the essential benefits of VRF systems include variable capacity, low operating sound, zoning applications, effective energy usage, distributed control, low maintenance costs, quick installation, low ambient operation, and simultaneous heating and cooling.

The course, which is scheduled to be held on May 16, gives non-manufacturer-specific approach on how to apply and use VRF systems in the buildings. It will add to the fundamental technology introduction given in the 2012 ASHRAE Handbook, HVAC Systems, and Equipment.

The ASHRAE Learning Institute (ALI) offers the 11 online professional development seminars that are focused on energy efficiency, commissioning, standards and guidelines, and HVAC applications. Those who are interested in taking part in the online seminars may access the instructor-led courses from anywhere just as long as they have an Internet connection. They can earn continuing education units or professional development hours for each course completed.
