Carrier Cor Thermostats are Now Compatible with Apple HomeKit
Carrier has recently announced that its Cor™ thermostat is now compatible with the Apple HomeKit. The said collaboration is in line with the commitment of Carrier to develop all-around and interoperable smart thermostats. The coaction between the two companies gives homeowners a smooth experience of controlling their homes’ climate controls and comfort. Carrier is connected to a unit of United Technologies Corp. known as the UTC Climate, Controls, and Security.
According to the Vice President of Marketing for Carrier, Matthew Pine, “Carrier and Apple are brands long synonymous with innovations that have changed our world, so this collaboration signals a very bright future for how homeowners interact with their home. It is a marriage between smart devices and home comfort, convenience, and security. We are excited for what this collaboration will mean for our customers now and in the future.”
An article by AchrNews indicated that Users of Apple HomeKit technology are allowed to easily and securely manage their home comfort system from anywhere by using the latest 1OS 10 Home app or voice-controlled Siri installed on their iPhones, iPads, or Apple Watches. Homeowners can set-up HomeKit-enabled products to work together depending on triggers including having the furnace or air conditioner activate to a particular temperature when the homeowner arrives home or programming the system to a more efficient level when the people occupying the house leave. The Apple HomeKit technology features a state-of-the-art security system with end-to-end encryption and authentication between the heating and cooling system and the iOS device.
The latest development regarding the collaboration of the two companies proves that the Cor thermostat is the best home climate control device. It was launched at the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show (CES). The Cor thermostat can work with a wide range of home comfort systems and was made with a streamlined interface for the modern-day home setting.
Pine added, “Since the introduction of the Cor thermostat two years ago, we are pleased to see the power of this thermostat to increase a home’s energy efficiency and save people money. Homeowners can save hundreds of dollars a year and ultimately reduce their energy consumption and carbon footprint. We are thrilled to know this powerful technology, paired with Apple’s world-class products, can help even more homeowners make the very most of their home comfort system.”
Features of the Cor thermostat such as smart setback allows the device to wisely adapt beyond manual programming and results in greater efficiency. Homeowners rely on energy reports to fully comprehend their energy savings so they can adjust or modify the settings to fully maximize their savings.
The HomeKit enabled Carrier Cor thermostats will be available soon.
